Who am i, where am i …

Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, I fell in love with the city and its people. From a very young age, I've always felt a need to analyse the city through its citizens' personal and subjective urban stories, expressions, and hidden emotions. It is these streets and these people that stirred within me a passion for culture and identity, as presented in the ideas of others and depicted through images.

It all started with walks down Cairo’s streets, my phone camera actively capturing the life around me, until one day I realised my passion for visual storytelling and discovered the camera lens to be my go-to medium of self-expression.

Having since lived in Lausanne, Tokyo, New York City, and now Zürich, I have been reflecting on cultural identities and the diversity of society within the context of its respective art and history. In so doing, I began to explore the world of analogue photography and documentary cinematic storytelling.

On this site, you can see some of my work and projects. It is not much yet, but I am working on exploring, experimenting, and learning more and more ..

If you have any feedback or perhaps have an idea for a project we could work on together, feel free to drop me an email!
